It may not be peak award show season, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some over-the-top nights to look forward to. Next up is the Billboard Music Awards, so stock up on popcorn and trophies and get ready for a night of glitz, glamour, and the year’s biggest hits.
The event takes place at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on Sunday, May 21, but fans can watch from the comfort of their own homes by tuning into ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
Ludacris returns for the fourth year in a row to host the shindig. This year, he’ll be joined by Vanessa Hudgens, according to PEOPLE.
Nikki Minaj is going to open the show with a nine minute set, which will feature Lil Wayne, Jason Derulo and David Guetta.
As if that weren’t exciting enough, it will be followed by performances from The Chainsmokers, Halsey, and Sam Hunt. In the spirit of the show’s cutting edge musical celebration, Florida Georgia Line will team up with John Legend for an unlikely collaboration. Don’t be surprised when Celine Dion takes the stage, and definitely expect a rocking appearance from the likes of Bruno Mars, Camila Cabello, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Julia Michaels and Miley Cyrus.
People from all over Hollywood will present awards, from Kate Beckinsale to Miss America 2017 Savvy Shields.
The audience will be even more full of stars as the nominees take their places.
It’s a pretty safe bet that Drake and The Chainsmokers, who lead the nominees with 22 nods each, will take home some hardware. Also heading to the stage will likely be Twenty One Pilots with 17 nominations, Rihanna with 14, The Weeknd with 13 and Beyoncé with eight.
